How TrackdayFinder collects, uses and protects your personal data, and the rights you have over it under UK data-protection law.

Who we are

TrackdayFinder.co.uk (“TrackdayFinder”, “we”, “us”) is a free trackday-listing service operated by GMRacing.co.uk, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. What we collect and why

You can browse the trackday listings without giving us any personal data. We collect personal data only in these situations:

• Email alerts. If you sign up for trackday alerts we store your email address and the search criteria you asked to be notified about, so we can email you when matching trackdays appear. Lawful basis: consent.
• Selling a trackday space. If you list a space on our Spaces noticeboard we store your email address, an optional display name, and the details of your listing. We email you a link to confirm the listing is really yours. Lawful basis: consent and our legitimate interest in running the noticeboard.
• Contacting a seller. If you contact a seller through the noticeboard we use your email address to pass your message on, with your address set as the reply-to so the seller can respond directly. We do not publish your address on the site. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in connecting buyers and sellers.
• Emailing us. If you email us (for example to report a missing event) we keep that correspondence so we can deal with it.
• Analytics. We collect anonymised, aggregated usage statistics to understand how the site is used and improve it (see Cookies & analytics below).

Cookies & analytics

We use two analytics tools:

• Umami — a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. It records only aggregate visit data.
• Google Analytics — provided by Google. It sets cookies on your device and processes usage data (including your IP address) on our behalf, and it loads only if you accept it on our cookie banner. This involves a transfer of data to Google outside the UK (see International transfers).

When you first visit we ask whether you accept Google Analytics cookies. Those cookies are set only if you choose “Accept”; choosing “Reject” leaves them off. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site works normally without them. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that operate the site for us, acting as our processors:

• Hostinger — hosting our servers (EU).
• Google (Google Analytics) — website analytics (USA).
• Resend and/or our own mail server — to deliver the emails you ask for (alerts, listing confirmations, seller messages).

Trackday listings are aggregated from public organiser websites, and bookings are made with the respective organiser — when you click through to book, that organiser’s own privacy policy applies to what you do on their site.

International transfers

Some providers above (e.g. Google, Resend) process data in the USA. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum or the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

• Alert subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
• Marketplace listings and related messages: for the life of the listing and a short period afterwards, then deleted.
• Email correspondence: as long as needed to handle your query.
• Analytics: retained in aggregate only.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict our use of it, to withdraw consent at any time, and to data portability. Every alert and marketplace email also contains a one-click unsubscribe link. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@trackdayfinder.co.uk.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
